Church Break-In

On 3/26/2021 at 1537 hours, BPD responded to EastLawn Baptist Church located at 432 N. Sellars Mill Road reference to breaking and entering.  A witness observed several juveniles behind the church breaking windows with a fire extinguisher.  The juveniles fled on foot prior to police arrival.  When officers arrived, they discovered the church had been broken into and the suspects had sprayed several fire extinguishers throughout the church.  Officers believe the same suspects are connected to the break-in at Alamance County Elderly Service on Martin St.

Breaking and Entering of a Business

 

The sledgehammer bandit strikes again, but this time on the other side of the city.

 

On 03/26/2021 at 03:05:05 hrs., officers were dispatched to Short Stop Food Mart located at 217 S. Ireland St. in reference to a business alarm indicating a front door glass break and interior motion. Officers arrived on the scene at 03:06:11 to find that the business had been broken into and the suspects had fled the scene. Surveillance video showed a male suspect exit from the passenger side of possibly a light-colored sedan with a sledgehammer.  The male then used the sledgehammer to break the front door glass at which time he and another male entered the business.  There were multiple items stolen including an undetermined amount of money.

 

At this time, the surveillance photos are not available.

Can you identify?  On 03-25-2021 at 1606 hrs. Burlington Police responded to the Drury Inn & Suites (1767 Glidewell Dr., Burlington, NC 27215) reference to an assault.  The suspect was captured on video, but the video was not very clear.

Sig Event - Breaking and Entering / Larceny

University Corner Tobacco and Vape, 1183 University Dr, Burlington, NC

 

BURLINGTON, NC—

 

On 3/25/2021, at 0452 hrs, officers were dispatched to University Corner Tobacco and Vape, 1183 University Dr., Suite 111, in reference to a business alarm.  Upon arrival, officers located the glass front door shattered and evidence that entry had been made to the business.  It appeared the suspect used a blunt object to shatter the front door, gaining entry. 


The business contact arrived and indicated cash and numerous cartons of cigarettes had been taken from the store; the total amount and cash value are unknown at this time. 


Surveillance video indicated a male suspect used a sledgehammer to break the front glass and enter the business.   The suspect is similar in description as a suspect in an additional reported breaking and entering reported at a local business on 03/24/2021. 

 

The suspect is described as a slender male wearing dark jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt, red gloves, and red and black shoes.

Business Break-In

Business Break-In

On 03/24/2021 at 0425 hrs., officers were dispatched to the Quick Mart located at 3503 S. Church Burlington in reference to a business alarm. When officers arrived they noticed the business had been broken into.  Entry was gained by the suspects breaking the front glass window out. Items were stolen from the business. 

Suspect one is described as a slender male wearing dark jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt, red gloves, and red and black shoes.

Suspect two was medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and light-colored jeans and tennis shoes.  

 

The video surveillance footage was not very clear.  So far, we do not have a photo of the second suspect.  When more information is available, we will post it.
