Mebane Man Charged With 2nd Degree Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor

On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit and the Special Victims Unit began an investigation from a cyber tip. Information from the cyber tip alleged that an individual uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files to the internet. The investigation led investigators to a suspect living in Mebane, N.C.

On Friday, September 8, 2022, Investigators conducted a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. The suspect was identified as Omarius Rhashaa Credle.

During the search of the residence, electronic devices were seized and submitted for forensic examination. On completion of the forensic examination, Investigators found probable cause to charge Mr. Credle with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a Class E felony.

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, Mr. Credle was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Graham Police is investigating an Armed Robbery

At approximately 5:30 this evening, officers responded to Watercourse Apartments, located at 1020 Watercourse Circle concerning a reported armed robbery/ carjacking in the parking lot.
 
The victim's vehicle was stolen during the robbery and discovered a short distance away from the incident.
 
The suspect was last seen running from the area on foot and is possibly known to the victim.
 
No injuries were reported during the incident which is still under investigation.

On 11-20-2023 around 4:30 am, officers responded to the Biscuitville restaurant located at 310 S. Main Street concerning an Armed Robbery. According to the victims, who are also the employees, the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money.
 
The suspect fled the scene on foot, with the victim's cash, in a southeast direction. No one was injured during the incident.
 
The suspect was described as a male, of unknown race due to a mask, wearing all-black clothing and gray or white shoes.

On Friday, November 3, 2023, at approximately 2:40 p.m., an ACSO Deputy traveling north on Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Rd. observed a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane. The Deputy attempted a traffic stop for driving left of center.

The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated with the vehicle eventually stopping on Salem Church Rd.

The driver, identified as William Coletrane, was believed to be intoxicated and found to have an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Mr. Coletrane was arrested and transported to the Alamance County detention Center.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 6400 block of Thom Rd. in southeastern Alamance County. Deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident near the 6000 block of Jordan Dr., Saxapahaw, N.C. 

Deputies detained two females who were in the vehicle. One of the females, later identified as Nickie Nicole Brewer, initially gave Deputies the name of her sister. Deputies also learned that Ms. Brewer was on probation and had two warrants for arrest (WFA) from Burlington PD for shoplifting and larceny which occurred on November 1, 2023. 

Ms. Brewer was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Jail. Once at ACJ, she was served with the two outstanding WFA and was also served with a Magistrate Order for Felony Identity Theft.

Sexual offender registry violation

Officers with the Graham Police Department have arrested 32-year-old Patrick McComb for a sexual offender registry violation.
 
Officers working the downtown Pumpkin Bash event on Friday were approached by community members who expressed concern that a registered sex offender was at the event in violation of the terms of his release.
 
Officers conducted an investigation and identified Patrick McComb as being present and on an active 30-year sex offender registry list after he was convicted of First-Degree Sexual Assault and Indecent Liberties with a Child in Rockingham County in 2007.
 
Under the terms of his registry, McCombs is forbidden from being in public places in the presence of children.
 
He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in jail under no bond.

Sexual Assault Case Re-opened After Seven Years County Man Facing Multiple Felonies

On Monday, July 3, 2023, Special Victims Unit (SVU) Investigators were asked to re-open a case of alleged sexual assault that occurred in 2016. The caller was reported to be the victim who was thirteen (13) at the time of the alleged assault.

The case was previously closed due to lack of family cooperation with law enforcement and sexual assault survivor advocates.

The victim, after contacting SVU, stated a willingness to cooperate with the investigation. SVU Investigators began going through reports from 2016 and conducted interviews with the victim which were deemed to be consistent from the original discoveries. Witnesses were also interviewed and their stories remained consistent.

The victim again identified James Matthey Hardy II as the person who allegedly committed the offenses.

SVU Investigators completed a case review with the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office and took out warrants against Mr. Hardy.

Mr. Hardy was arrested in Rowan County on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Mr. Hardy was later transferred to the Alamance County Detention Center where he remains.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, Special Victims Unit (SVU) Investigators opened an investigation of a known registered sex offender residing at an unregistered location.

During the investigation, it was learned that the offender, Azalee Renee Hunnicutt, changed residency without notifying the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office as required by law.  

Ms. Hunnicutt was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where she went before the Magistrate’s Office and received 48 hours hold prior to appearing before a judge who will set bond.

The Graham Police Department received information from several sources, including community members and crime-stopper complaints that residents of 217 Bradley Street in Burlington were stealing items from locations in the 300 block of E. Parker St. in Graham.
 
An investigation was launched by our Community Oriented Policing Team. The two-week investigation revealed that Savanah Marie Cole, Clinton Baker Stackhouse, and Douglas Page Cagle were in possession of stolen catalytic converters after a traffic stop was conducted in the area.
 
The suspects have been charged with Felony Possession of Catalytic Converters and drug paraphernalia.
 
Additionally, Officers observed the same suspect vehicle return to the area of E. Parker Street on 10/25/23 and officers arrested Savanah Marie Cole again with Felony Breaking and Entering, Larceny after breaking and entering, Felony Possession of Fentanyl, and Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
 
Both of these arrests are a result of our team working with the community to address quality-of-life issues that were developing.

Burlington, NC | In the early morning hours of October 10, 2023, Burlington officers were flagged down on North Church Street by a victim who reported an armed robbery. The victim had arranged to meet someone through Facebook Marketplace to sell a PlayStation 5 gaming console. Once the parties arrived at the designated meeting location, the suspect reportedly displayed a handgun, paid in counterfeit bills, and left with the console. Patrol Officers identified the suspect as Michael Donovan Slade, a 21-year-old male from Burlington.  

 

Arrest warrants were obtained for robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, obtaining property by false pretense, and breaking and entering a motor vehicle. 

 

On October 11, members of the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant for the suspect’s home, 2821 Westchester Drive, Burlington. Evidence, including the PlayStation 5 console, was collected. Slade was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he received a $100,000 secured bond. 

 

The Burlington Police Department would like to remind residents to consider their safety first when planning to sell items to people they meet through online marketplaces. Always arrange to meet in a public place and utilize the transaction zone at the Burlington Police Department (267 W. SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER IMPERSONATING FIREFIGHTER
 
On October 6th at approximately 9:00 a.m., Graham Police Department Sgt. B.A. Land was traveling inside the city limits of Burlington when he observed a vehicle with red strobe lights operating in a careless and reckless manner, speeding, and passing other cars in heavy traffic.
 
Sgt. Land initiated a traffic stop and called Burlington Police Department for assistance. A field investigation revealed that the driver, Pedro Virola Jr, was not associated with any fire department, had a suspended driver's license, and was a registered sex offender. He was wearing a green traffic vest and wearing a Fire Department-style ball cap. He was charged with Unlawful Use of a Red Light, Careless and Reckless Driving, and Driving While License Revoked. His vehicle was towed.
 
Pictures of the suspect and vehicle were sent on to all local police and fire departments in the area and over the weekend it was discovered that a second offense had occurred inside the city limits of Graham. Officers learned that the driver was operating the same vehicle and stopped at a crash scene on October 4th before identifying himself as a firefighter.
Based on the new information obtained over the weekend, Pedro Virola was charged additionally with Impersonating a Firefighter and Unlawful use of a red light. He has been given a court date of 12/1/23. Mr. Virola is a registered sex offender from an out-of-state conviction. Pedro Virola is not associated with any local fire departments. His first responder tag was hand-made and not issued from that department.
 
The Graham Police Department is asking for the public’s help with any new information related to Pedro Virola, or his vehicle.

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 7:38 p.m., Deputies responded to the 1100 block Terrell St., Mebane, N.C., in reference to a call of damage to property. On arrival, Deputies made contact with the caller who resides at this location. The caller reported that Markus Rogers, who had since left the residence, burst out the windows in her car after a domestic dispute. While Deputies were on-scene, the victim was on the phone with Mr. Rogers. Deputies were able to hear Mr. Rogers threaten to “shoot up” the victim’s residence and also run his vehicle through her house. Deputies immediately obtained warrants against Mr. Rogers for Communicating Threats and Damage to Property. Deputies began searching for Mr. Rogers.
 
At approximately 10:50 p.m., Deputies responded to Mr. Roger’s residence on Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Rd., Graham, N.C., after receiving information that he was there. Mr. Rogers fled from his residence on foot prior to Deputies arriving. Deputies obtained further information that Mr. Rogers was watching them from the wooded area near his home. Deputies communicated with Mr. Rogers several times via phone, but he refused to give himself up. During the incident, Mr. Rogers made statements that he was going to the school where the victim’s child is a student, and kill the child. Deputies then obtained further charges against Mr. Rogers for Communicating Threats of Mass Violence on Educational Property.
 
With the assistance of additional ACSO Deputies and Officers from other agencies, Mr. Rogers was found and taken into custody at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Mr. Rogers was located in the 2100-Block of Davis Rd. approximately a half-mile from his residence.
 
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Mebane Police Department, Graham Police Department, Elon Police Department, and the Gibsonville Police Department for their assistance with this investigation and search for Mr. Rogers.

Officers with the Graham Police Department have arrested Bobby Darin Brent from Burlington after he fled from officers following a vehicle stop.
 
Yesterday, at approximately 4:00 pm., an officer attempted to conduct a vehicle traffic stop for a registration violation on S. Main St. near Bruce Turney St. The driver refused to stop and continued to drive recklessly away from the officer.
Officers did not pursue the vehicle but did locate the SUV after it struck a utility pole near the intersection of Melville St. and Long Ave.
 
Mr. Brent was located a short time later and was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. He was arrested and charged with:
 
- Felony Flee to Elude
- Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
- Misdemeanor Failure to report an Accident
 
He was also served with an outstanding order for his arrest on an unrelated charge.

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) received a cyber tip involving child sexual abuse material. The cyber tip alleged that an individual had uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files to the internet. The investigation led to a suspect living in Elon N.C.
 
During the investigation, SVU discovered that probable cause existed to charge Mr. Aamari Daeshawn Eubanks with Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. On Thursday, September 28, 2023, Investigators issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Eubanks.
 
Mr. Eubanks was arrested on Monday, October 2, 2023 and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
 
This case remains under investigation with more charges possible.

County Man Charged With Felony Exploitation of a Minor

On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) began an investigation into a cyber tip regarding child sexual abuse material. According to information from the cyber tip, an individual allegedly uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files to the internet.

The investigation led to a suspect identified as Phillip Lane Buzzell who resides in northeast Alamance County.

As the investigation continued, Investigators were granted a search warrant and conducted a search of Mr. Buzzell’s residence. During the search, Investigators discovered and seized electronic devices.

After the completion of forensic examinations, Investigators found that Mr. Buzzell’s devices contained CSAM files. Mr. Buzzell was charged an turned himself on Wednesday, September 23, 2023, at the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

Burlington, NC | Burlington Police Officers received several complaints from community members in reference to criminal activity at 503 Clay Street. As a result of the complaints, BPD, with assistance from Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE), Alamance Narcotics Enforcement Team (ANET), and Burlington Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant on October 3, 2023. Officers located marijuana, heroin, paraphernalia, and evidence of alcohol being sold from the residence. Three individuals were arrested.  

Tracy Deangelo Compton, a 45-year-old male from Burlington was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin (felony), possession of marijuana (misdemeanor), maintaining a dwelling (felony), and possession/sale alcohol beverage with no permit (misdemeanor). 

Rodney Edson Smith, a 45-year-old male from Burlington was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling (felony), drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and possession/sale alcohol beverage with no permit (misdemeanor).  

Jakaeja N’Shea Wallington, a 24-year-old female from Burlington was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling (felony) and drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

Burlington, NC | On Friday, September 29, 2023, around 1:00 a.m., Burlington officers responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Dare Street. Officers arrived on scene to find no victim. At the same time, additional officers responded to a local hospital where a 37-year-old male was admitted for a gunshot wound. Officers confirmed the non-life-threatening injury occurred on Dare Street as the result of an argument.
 
Investigators are following up on several leads. The Criminal Investigations Division is in the early stages of the investigation and no other information is currently available. More information will be forthcoming.
